The entire month of July my heart has belonged in Concord NC. There have been so many great moments to look back on and I can only thank God for how blessed I am to have met some amazing people this past month that I cherish!
First I have to brag a little bit about how great the organization THE SANDBOX truly is. I had never heard of them before but Facebook suggested one of their fundraising events to me and for the first time ever Facebook was actually right! After pouring over every page of their website, their Facebook page, and doing some praying before the Lord, everything just fell into place so naturally that I had no doubts this was an organization I wanted to wholeheartedly support!
Their Operation Dress and Try On Day held on Saturday, July 13 at the Embassy Suites & Concord Conference Center was so much fun! I can't explain how many moments throughout the day I caught myself busting out loud in laughter. Watching the girls get giddy trying on dresses and even seeing brides find their dream dress at an unbelievable price left me warm and fuzzy inside. It doesn't matter how much of a tomboy a woman may be, when you put her in an elegant gown another side of her comes out and feeling like a princess is something every single woman deserves; this organization gives that to every individual who walks through the door and I love that!
Here are some of my favorite highlights from that day (Images taken from their official Facebook page). Be sure to check out the two upcoming events and find out more how YOU can be a part of THE SANDBOX by visiting their official website at: https://gotsandbox.org/
Below are two upcoming events that you can also be a part of. Take time to support this amazing non-profit that gives so much back to it's community!
Next I had the opportunity to spend the day at Crossroads Church in Concord raising funds for the upcoming mission trip to Nicaragua!!! It was such a blessing meeting other ladies and members of the church, spoiling them with bath and body products from Suds Me Up Buttercup, and most of all talking about Jesus Christ and all the things HE is doing right now around the world. In case you didn't know, JESUS LOVES YOU MORE TODAY THAN HE DID YESTERDAY AND WILL NEVER STOP LOVING YOU!!! That is amazing news and something every single human being needs to know and embrace before He returns!

Growing up my favorite time of year hands down is Christmas. Although I don't believe in or encourage celebrating Santa, I always looked forward to the huge holiday meal my mom would make after hours spent in the kitchen over several days. Being older I now appreciate all of her efforts and love to help her cook... at least the desserts anyhow :)
However, the best memories I have growing up are all the family traditions created with those I love the most! Getting together for the big meal, then opening one present on Christmas Eve, and of course we would always go down to the local pond to feed the ducks with bread after walking the streets to see all the buildings decorated in Christmas lights and hear worship songs lifting up our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
What family traditions did you love and remember growing up? What fun events do you do with your family now to bring in the holiday season? Here are my top 3 suggestions and of course I've added some new ones along the way where you can come visit Suds Me Up Buttercup to complete your shopping for all those loved ones in your life!
TOP 3 CHARLOTTE, NC AREA HOLIDAY EVENTS:
1. SOUTHERN CHRISTMAS SHOW
Okay I have to admit, the only reason I visit this show is for the food. I have my fave vendors already picked out and ready to visit for fudge and all kinds of dips!!! Taking place right now between November 8-18, 2018. Be sure to check out the official website at https://southernchristmasshow.com/ for hours and discounted tickets.
2. DANIEL STOWE BOTANICAL GARDENS HOLIDAY LIGHTS
This is a great event if you LOVE lights and gardens! Every year they add something new to keep you coming back, but the inviting environment always brings a smile to my face. Purchase tickets online at https://www.dsbg.org/events/garden-events/public-garden-events/holidays-at-the-garden/
3. McADENVILLE CHRISTMAS TOWN USA HOLIDAY LIGHTS
My grandparents live minutes from downtown McAdenville so this one is a Christmas tradition since I began walking, and yes, this is the place to feed the ducks... not sure if they still allow this but it's so much fun! This event holds such a dear place in my heart as my grandparent's church that they attended since they were married plays a vital part in this show with a huge sand mound featuring a nativity scene and all throughout the town you can hear the church bells playing music! A little secret though from me to you... don't stay in your car. Find a parking spot and walk the streets to get the real feel of the event. You never know what you are going to see but I promise there will be lots of people waving at you from their cars and wishing you Merry Christmas (be sure to watch the video below to see what I mean)!
And of course we can't forget all the local holiday parades taking place starting Thanksgiving Day! So where exactly can you get all your shopping done? Glad you asked, check out the events below and come see me for one-of-a-kind AND natural bath products for you and your loved ones. It's a gift they will never expect but will absolutely love and want more!
